Participants -
This workshop is suitable for participants who are able to bring suitable bisqued work (Details of types of clay, bisque-firing, etc will be provided after booking). For one-step naked raku and flash firing a well burnished/terra sigged finish is preferable. For Obvara a mix of smoothness with texture can work well. Copper Matt is a glaze technique so smoothness is not a requirement. During the workshop you will have the opportunity to be fully involved in the firing and reduction processes. |

Health & Safety -
This will be a major consideration and participants should bring appropriate clothing as all those attending have the opportunity to participate in the firings by loading/unloading kilns and the reduction bins. PPE wear will be available to participants at the workshop. Eg Leather aprons, welders gloves, protective face-shields, raku tongs - but please bring your own, together with a facemask, if you have them. |
|
Other Information-
We will be using large, heavy-duty outdoor gazebos for 'indoor' preparation. The ends of the gazebos will be open to maximise air-flow when the weather allows so do be prepared for possible chilly weather.
